My descendants won't forget me...

The passionate poet, translator and dramatist Usman Nasir, who left an indelible mark in Uzbek literature with his unique talent, high tenacity and patriotism, and was a victim of political repression during the autocratic regime, is one of the famous children of our nation.

The decision of President No. 125 of February 10, 2022 (https://lex.uz/uz/docs/-5854133), which aims to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the poet's birth and perpetuate his memory, is being implemented today in all educational institutions.

On November 12 of this year, a literary and artistic evening called "Don't forget my garden..." was organized at the initiative of the Faculty of Philology of Urganch State University.

It was attended by members of Khorezm Region Writers' Union, university management, professors and teachers of the Faculty of Philology, students, and fans of Osman Nasir's poetry.

The literary and artistic evening was opened by S. Davletov, the first vice-rector of UrSU, who spoke about the life and work of Usman Nasir, as well as his years during the period of repression. He noted that the mature artistic works of the poet have an incomparable role and importance in raising the spirituality of our people and in the education of the young generation.

Also, the lecture of the chairman of the Khorezm region branch of the "Golden Heritage" fund, local historian, scientist K. Nurjonov on the poet's works and manuscripts was full of news for the students and young people gathered at the event.

During the event, the students of the 195th Uzbek language group skillfully praised the noble human qualities, love and loyalty to the Motherland of the poet Usman Nasir, who entered the poetry of the 20th century like lightning and lived a short creative life.

At the end of the event, the dean of the Faculty of Philology, D. Gayipov, made a speech and awarded diplomas and souvenirs to the students who actively participated in the organization of the artistic evening, accompanied by members of the Writers' Union.
