“I Will Be a Journalist Too” – The First Step Toward Creativity!

On November 11, the first session of the creative club “I Will Be a Journalist Too” was held at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni, in cooperation with the Khorezm Regional Branch of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan.

This initiative aims to increase young people’s interest in journalism, support their talents, and develop creative thinking skills. The club also provides participants with the opportunity to directly interact with professionals in the field.

The event was attended by Dilbar Bekchanova, head of the Khorezm Regional Branch of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan, journalist and writer; Sayyora Samandarova, a well-known poet and recipient of the “Shuhrat” medal, Associate Professor at Urgench Innovative University; and Muhabbat To‘rabayeva, correspondent of the "Ishonch" newspaper.

The guests shared their professional experiences, creative pursuits, and the responsibilities inherent in journalism. Students engaged in open dialogue with them and received answers to their questions.
In addition, young journalists were given assignments for the next club sessions.

The session was moderated by M.Akhmedova, Head of the University Press Service Department. Active participation also came from M.Tillayeva and Z.Qurbonova, lecturers from the Department of Translation Theory and Practice.

This creative meeting plays an important role in deepening students’ interest in journalism, familiarizing them with the nuances of the profession, and nurturing a talented generation that will one day find its place in the world of media and journalism.
