Combating Religious Extremism and Terrorism – A Vital Duty for All of Us!
On November 4, an event titled “Combating Religious Extremism and Terrorism – One of Our Most Important Duties” was held at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Biruni.
The meeting was attended by D.Ibadullayev, First Vice-Rector of Urgench State University; O.Vaisov, chief specialist of the Urgench City Department of the Committee on Religious Affairs; A.Khudoyberganov, an officer of the Counter-Terrorism Department of the Rapid Search Service of the Khorezm Regional Department of Internal Affairs; as well as university prevention inspectors, psychologists, and students.
During the meeting, issues such as protecting young people from the harmful influence of various destructive ideas spreading through the internet and social networks, strengthening critical thinking, and improving legal literacy were discussed. Special attention was given to protecting youth from offenses, drug addiction, immorality, and ensuring they do not fall under the influence of terrorism, religious extremism, and foreign ideologies. A life-based video clip on the topic was shown during the session.
At the end of the event, students asked questions of interest and received detailed answers from the specialists.
