About the department
The department currently offers undergraduate programs on philology and teaching languages such as German, French and English languages. There are 65 professors and teachers at the department. 1 of them is a professor, 3 of them are assistent professors, 3 of them are doctors of philosophy, 3 of them are senior teachers and 53 teachers. The department conducts scientific and practical cooperation with the German Embassy, the French Embassy, the Goethe Institute, the Herder Institute, the Max Planck Institute, the Bonn University, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the University of Sorbonne and other notable organizations.
There are scientific directions on topical problems of linguistics, folklore, translations, literary relations, comparative literature, modern problems of teaching foreign languages, professors and teachers in these areas.
Professor O. Djumaniyazov was a co-author of the 30-volume encyclopedia published by Brockhaus in Germany in 2006. In addition, teachers of the department published 6 textbooks, more than 10 educational and 40 teaching aids.
Since the formation of educational directions and specializations, up to 1000 bachelors and 10 masters have been trained in the department.
Teachers of the department are trained in prestigious universities of the leading countries of the world, such as Germany, France, Bulgaria, Russia, China, India and Malaysia.
In addition, every year students studying German are also enrolled in monthly courses at several universities in Germany.
Scientific works of the Department
Research activity is carried out in the chair in two directions: methodology of teaching French and German languages, literal relations, comparative literature and translation theory.
