August 31 is Remembrance Day of Victims of Political Repression

A conference dedicated to August 31 - "Remembrance Day of Victims of Political Repression" was held at the Museum of Victims of Political Repression in the structure of Urganch State University.

A number of states and public figures of our region, historians, scientists, professors, teachers, tutors and talented students of Urganch State University, as well as descendants of some of our compatriots who were repressed during the former Soviet era, took part in the conference.

The conference was opened by the Rector of UrSU, Bakhrom Abdullayev, with the opening speech, to perpetuate the memory of our ancestors who fought valiantly to ensure the independence of our homeland, the freedom and liberty of our people, and the peaceful and prosperous life of future generations, who were repressed during the authoritarian regime, to study and promote their activities and heritage. He spoke about the work being carried out in this regard.

As part of the conference, the director of this museum, Ph.D., Assoc. Y. Rakhmanova's "Xorazm xonlari avlodlarining qatag‘on qilinishi", K. Halikov's "Xorazm xoni Eltuzarxon avlodlarining achchiq taqdiri", Faculty of History, Associate Professor, Q. Sobirov, "1937-38 yillardagi Katta qirg‘in", labor veteran, journalist K. Olloquliyev's lectures on "Karvak qishlog‘idan qatag‘on qilinganlar taqdiri" were heard.

At the end of the conference, "Usman Nasir's monologue" was performed in the interpretation of People's Artist of Uzbekistan Shirin Ramazanova.

Visitors to the museum had the opportunity to get acquainted with the museum's rare collection during the conference.
