The 5th International CLIL seminar-training is being held at the Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Biruni


Today, all conditions are being created in our country to improve the study of foreign languages, especially among the younger generation. A number of works are also being carried out at Urgench State University to increase the potential of youth. As a continuation of this practical work, the 5th International CLIL  seminar-training is being held at the university in cooperation with the Silk Road Research Academy and the Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni. This seminar was dedicated to the topic “5th International Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)”.

The purpose of organizing this event is to further improve the system of teaching foreign languages ​​​​in higher education and to widely promote it.

The visit to our university of the main initiators of this seminar, Professor Ana Linares of the Spanish University of "Universidad Autónoma de Madrid" and the head of the Silk Road Research Academy, Azamat Akbarov, as well as the participation of the Chairperson of the Public Council of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Feruza Rashidova, Rector of the Urgench State Pedagogical Institute, Feruza Madrakhimova, and Head of the Khorezm Regional Department of Public Education, Khamro Bektemirov, further increase the prestige of the seminar.

The event was opened by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the university, Gayrat Urazbayev. In his speech, he noted that the training is of great importance for professors and teachers in studying modern methodologies and further improving the quality of education in teaching foreign languages. 

During the event, topical issues  were discussed such as the role of CLIL methodology in the educational process, effective methods of integrated teaching of science and language, modern pedagogical technologies and innovative approaches. It provided an opportunity for foreign and local specialists, scientists and educators to participate directly and online. 

During the ceremony, participants were awarded certificates for their contributions to the field of science. 

The first lectures of the seminar were opened by Ana Linares, Professor of the Spanish University of “Universidad Autónoma de Madrid”, and Azamat Akbarov, Head of the Silk Road Research Academy. In their presentations, they provided detailed insights into the role of CLIL methodology in the educational process and effective methods of integrated teaching of science and language.
