The Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to Uzbekistan visited Urgench State University
Today, on May 16, a delegation led by the Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to Uzbekistan, Mr. Won Do-yeon, visited Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni. During the visit, an official meeting was held with the guests, led by the Head of the Khorezm Regional Department of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations Z.Sa'dullayev, the Acting rector of Urgench State University, Sardor Khodjaniyazov, with the participation of the university leadership and the team of the Faculty of Foreign Philology.
First, the Acting Rector S.Khodjaniyazov, presented information to the guests about the current activities of the university, educational processes, existing directions and specialties, faculties and international cooperation of the university, as well as ongoing cooperation with Korean higher education establishments.
In turn, Ambassador Won Doyeon expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and expressed great interest in the cooperation between Urgench State University and Korean higher education institutions. He made suggestions for further expanding cooperation between Korean universities and Urgench State University in the future.
The university administration also made a number of proposals to Ambassador Won Doyeon. In particular, it was proposed to organize joint educational programs with South Korean universities that are among the TOP-500, to attract Korean philologists to UrSU, to organize a “Korean Language Center” and to assist in providing the center with Korean literature, to jointly implement innovative projects, and to cooperate in the fields of engineering, technology, and IT. The ambassador supported these proposals.
After the official meeting, the guests visited the “Korean Language Center” established at the Faculty of Foreign Philology and got acquainted with the activities of the center. They talked with students studying in the field of Philology and Language Teaching: Korean Language.
