Urgench State University has launched "Reading Week"
According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 871 of December 14, 2020, starting from 2021, the " Reading Week" will be held in April each year. On this basis, on April 18-23 this year, under the motto "Book-loving nation" began to hold a " Reading Week" throughout the country, including at Urgench State University.
Today, April 18, the opening ceremony of the week was held at the University Palace of Culture. It was attended by university professors, IRC staff and students.
The opening ceremony was opened by the First Vice-Rector for Youth Issues and Spiritual and Educational Affairs S.Davletov, who wished success to the week.
The event included performances by talented students, plays, as well as a meeting with the winner of the regional contest "The most active reading", quizzes on the life and works of Uzbek and world literature, a meeting with the winners of state scholarships.
Pupils of school No. 7 of Yangibazar district also took part in the opening ceremony with their artistic performances.
G.Jumanazarov, Director of the IRC of UrSU, spoke at the event and informed the students about the activities of the IRC, its fund and the literature available in it, the rules of use of the library. He noted that the reading week will last until April 23 this year and will include a series of meetings and literary and artistic evenings, seminars, trainings, contests and book exhibitions. He called on students to be active.
At the end of the opening ceremony, the organizers of the event, as well as active students and schoolchildren were awarded Certificates of Honor.
