Advocacy event with the participation of students of higher education institutions on "Joint fight against cyber threats - the need of the era"


The most common crimes in the Internet world today, including ideological and technical violations, are the result of victims' failure to comply with the norms of Internet culture. That is why it is important to carry out a comprehensive propaganda campaign involving all segments of the population, to prevent cyber threats.

On April 27, 2022, at the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region, these issues were widely discussed at a propaganda event at Urgench State University on "Joint fight against cyber threats - the need of the era."

The event was attended by students of higher educational institutions of Khorezm region: UrSU, TUIT UF, TTA UB, professors and teachers, representatives of the working group and employees of the regional police.

The event was moderated by the First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual and Educational Works of UrSU S.Davletov.

The seminar was attended by the official of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan S.Sadikov, the official of the Ministry of Internal Affairs M.Sultanov, the chief imam of Urgench H.Kenjayev, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education F.Farkhodov, Deputy Head of the Center for Navigation and Education, D.Abdullayev, Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of Cyber Security, Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, L.Atoyev, Officer-in-Charge of the Ministry of Internal Affairs .

In particular, the state of information literacy of the population, advocacy activities among young people in educational institutions, the content and essence of comprehensive advocacy measures for the early prevention of Internet threats, compliance with cybersecurity requirements of students, the main spiritual threats, widespread crimes, cybercrime and its features, the formation of a culture of Internet use among young people, the role of students and faculty in cybersecurity were explained in detail by the speakers.

The tragic consequences of various online gambling games were told with real-life examples, and students were warned.

Explanations were given on the most common types of spiritual threats - fanaticism and religious extremism, how to avoid them, how not to enter various unethical sites on the Internet and not fall into the trap of these vices.

In particular, the students were interested in the information about the "Cyber Assistant" system developed by the Cyber Security Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the fact that the officials showed the participants how to use the system and its convenience.

During the event, students actively participated with their questions.

There is no doubt that this advocacy event will play an important role in preventing various negative situations that may occur in the lives of students.
