Holiday Congratulations of The Rector of Urganch State University on October 21 - "Uzbek Language Holiday"

Hello, dear compatriots!

Dear teachers!

Dear students!

First of all, I sincerely congratulate all of you on October 21 - the "Day of the Uzbek Language", the 33rd anniversary of the granting of the state language status to the Uzbek language.

We are always proud to say that as the first step towards our independence, our mother tongue, Uzbek, was given the status of the State language. Before reaching his status, he faced some harassment and insults. Now, the great responsibility required of us is to respect our state language at a high level, to instill the value of our language into the consciousness of our people, to determine the place of the Uzbek language in the development of our society and to develop it, to unite towards a single goal on this path.

"The Uzbek language, which is one of the oldest and richest languages in the world, is a symbol of our national identity and independent statehood, a priceless spiritual wealth, a great value for our people," said President Sh. Mirziyoyev. This year we will celebrate 33 years anniversary since the Uzbek language was granted the status of a state language. Over the past period, some positive things have been done in the direction of the development of our language. Especially in recent years, these things have intensified. On the basis of the declaration dated October 21 as the "Holiday of the Uzbek language" by the President and the decisions and orders on the development of the state language, attention is paid to the development of our language at the level of state policy, and large-scale work is underway. Celebrating the Uzbek language holiday, among other national holidays, forms a greater sense of respect for our national language in the hearts of young and old living in our Republic.

Today, it is necessary for specialists to pay more attention to the actual issues of teaching the Uzbek language based on the experiences of foreign countries, and to conduct new research in this regard. It is also worth noting that cooperation between our university and foreign higher education institutions in the field of Uzbek language is on the way.

I wish all of you great success in your endeavors to use the Uzbek language, which has become a symbol of our pride, in accordance with its own laws, and to convey spiritual wealth to future generations. Once again, I sincerely congratulate you on the "Uzbek Language Day".

Happy Uzbek language holiday to all of us.

Bakhrom Abdullayev
