Student of UrSU Faculty of Physical Culture Alisher Yusupov wins bronze at the tournament in Osaka, Japan


Judoka Alisher Yusupov, 175, student of UrSU Physical Culture Faculty, defended the honor of our country in the Grand Slam tournament in Osaka, Japan, in the Düsseldorf, Brazil, in 2019 and Brazil. The winner of the Grand Slam Tournament defeated Daygo Kagawa of Japan and took the third place on the podium.

Recall that in the weight category of the judoka, our athlete in the first round defeated European champion, winner of many Grand Prix tournaments Ruslan Shakhbazov from Russia and Stefan Hegie from Austria in the second round. In the quarterfinals, the Japanese lost to Yusuke Kumashiro and defeated Kim Sang Min, the winner of the XXVIII Asian Games.

In his turn, Alisher Yusupov won the bronze medal and the 500 points for the Olympic Games.
