The delegation of Peking University visited Urgench State University

On August 12-13 of this year, a delegation led by Academician Tian Gang, director of the Beijing International Mathematical Research Center of Peking University of the People's Republic of China, visited Urgench State University. On August 12, the guests toured the "Ichan Qala" museum-reserve of the city of Khiva.

Today, on August 13, an official meeting was held with the members of the delegation under the leadership of Urgench State University Rector Bakhrom Abdullayev. Vice-rectors, deans of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, heads of departments, and representatives of the International Cooperation Department participated in it.

At the beginning of the dialogue, Rector B.Abdullayev expressed his satisfaction with the visit of the guests to the university and said that Urgench State University is always interested in cooperation with Peking University. He spoke about the university's cooperation with Chinese higher education institutions. He talked about the work being done at the university to develop the field. He gave information about international summer schools, seminars and conferences, international Olympiads held in mathematics.

The director of the Beijing International Mathematical Research Center, Academician Tian Gang said that the purpose of this visit was in response to the visit of the Rector of Urgench State University to Peking University in January this year.

During the meeting, they considered the possibilities of developing the cooperation in mathematics between the two universities, establishing the exchange of professors and students, conducting joint scientific research, establishing a mathematics center, and establishing cooperation in other areas.

After that, vice-rector for academic affairs, S.Khodjaniyozov gave a presentation about Urgench State University, and professor of Peking University, Liu Xiaobo gave a presentation about the Beijing International Mathematical Research Center and they introduced the current activities of the universities closely.

During the dialogue, the representives of Urgench State University expressed their desire to cooperate with Peking University in the fields of IT, physics, biology, chemistry, and archeology. The meeting ended with a sincere conversation about the prospects of mathematics, artificial intelligence and strengthening cooperation in various other fields.
