"Melon Festival – 2025" Has Begun!
From August 8 to 10, the delicious and cultural celebration — the traditional “Melon Festival” — is back with us again!
This year’s festival is taking place in the ancient and unique city of Khiva, particularly at the “Ichan Qala” and “Arda Khiva” complexes. Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Biruni is actively participating in the event.
The university’s modern and distinctive pavilion is drawing attention not only from local visitors but also from international tourists.
At the exhibition, more than 140 types of melon-based processed products — developed by scientists from the Faculty of Chemical Technologies in line with international standards — are being showcased. Additionally, the university's Melon Breeding Department is presenting results of its research on developing new melon varieties.
