The 2nd Meeting of the Academic Council of Urgench State University Was Held

On September 29, 2025, the second meeting of the Academic Council for the 2025/2026 academic year was held at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni.

The meeting was chaired by the acting rector of the university, S.Khodjaniyazov, with the participation of Council members. At the beginning of the session, the rector warmly congratulated the team on the upcoming sacred holiday — Teachers and Mentors Day. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of the teaching profession in society and its role in the upbringing of the younger generation.

During the meeting, diplomas for the academic degrees of DSc (Doctor of Science) and PhD (Doctor of Philosophy), as well as academic titles of Associate Professor awarded by the Supreme Attestation Commission, were ceremoniously presented to professors and teachers who made a significant contribution to increasing the university's scientific potential.

At the Academic Council meeting, reports and information from responsible persons were heard on the following agenda items:

On the content and significance of the speech delivered by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the 80th jubilee session of the UN General Assembly;
On the status of professors and teachers publishing articles in prestigious international scientific journals;
On the financial performance of Urgench State University in the first half of 2025;
On the involvement of university departments in attracting investments and the enrollment of international students.

In addition, miscellaneous issues and elections were also included in the Council’s agenda.
