On January 9, a regular scientific and methodological seminar was held in Room 430 at the Department of Roman–Germanic Philology of the Faculty of Foreign Philology of Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Beruni.
At the seminar, a lecture by Usmon Sotiboldiyevich Sobirov, a lecturer of the Department of Roman–Germanic Philology, entitled “Exercises for Developing Speaking Skills in Foreign Language Classes” was presented.
The lecture provided detailed information about the types of exercises aimed at forming speaking skills, their role in the teaching process, and their importance in increasing students’ communicative activity.
The possibilities of developing students’ oral speech through dialogue and monologue exercises, pair and group work, role-playing activities, speech tasks based on problem situations, question-and-answer activities, and free discussions were highlighted.
The faculty members of the department expressed their opinions and comments on the topic. The scientific and methodological seminar was held in a lively and engaging atmosphere.
