Today, on January 28, a regular scientific-theoretical seminar was held at the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology of the Faculty of Foreign Philology at Abu Rayhon Beruni Urgench State University.
The seminar was attended by faculty members of the department and master’s students. Lecturer of the department, Nilufar Qodirovna Samandarova, delivered a presentation on the topic “Verbs of Motion in the French Language and Their Correspondence Relations in Uzbek.”
During the seminar, the semantic features of verbs of motion in French and their corresponding equivalents in Uzbek were analyzed from a comparative perspective. The presentation highlighted the lexical and grammatical means characteristic of the French and Uzbek languages in expressing motion.
Special attention was paid to the semantic differences that arise in the process of translating verbs of motion and to issues of their adequate rendering. It was emphasized that the seminar materials are of significant scientific and practical importance for comparative linguistics and translation studies.
