On February 11, a regular scientific-theoretical seminar was held at the Department of Romance-Germanic Philology of the Faculty of Foreign Philology at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Beruni.

At the seminar, the trainee teacher of the department, Gulimmatova Rashida Samandar qizi, delivered a presentation entitled “The Interpretation of ‘Jadids’ and the ‘Jadid Movement’ in Foreign Academic Sources.”

During the seminar, particular attention was paid to the study of the Jadid movement in Germany. In particular, it was emphasized that in the research of Professor Ingeborg Baldauf of Humboldt University of Berlin, Jadidism is interpreted as a reformist and modernization movement in Central Asia. It was also noted that within the framework of research conducted by the Leibniz-Zentrum Moderner Orient (ZMO), Jadidism is evaluated as a process of intellectual renewal and cultural transformation in Muslim societies.

At the end of the seminar, a scientific discussion on the topic was organized.
