Head of the department, Ph.D., Professor Jamilya Ismailovna Ermetova in 2006 under the scientific supervision of UzMU Ph.D., Professor Yusupov Otkir Kurbanovich on the topic “Means of expressing cause-and-effect relationships in English” 02/10/04. - Successfully defended his thesis in German (English), candidate of philological sciences, received the title of associate professor in 2012, published the monograph “Causal Field in English.”

 (PhD) Kalandarov Oybek Rozimovich 2022 Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor O'.U. Under the guidance of Usmanov, he defended his dissertation on the topic “Syntactical and semantic features of the expression of the category of comparatives in English and Uzbek languages” and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philology.

 (PhD) Masharipova Nargiza Otakhanovna 2022, Doctor of Science, under the scientific supervision of Professor J.Sh. Jumabaeva defended her dissertation on the topic “Meaning between words in English and Uzbek languages” and received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Philology.

 (PhD) Karimova Farogat Sattorberganovna under the assistance of  Doctor of Philosophy, Professor J.I. Ermetova defended her dissertation on the topic “Spiritual-methodological and linguistic-cultural features of Lullaby  in English and Uzbek languages” and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Philology.

 (PhD) Djumatov Rashid 2023 Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Candidate of Philological Sciences after defending a dissertation on the topic “Comparative functional study of toponyms in the system of unrelated languages (using the example of English and Uzbek languages)” under the guidance of Professor J.I. Ermetova received academic degree.

(PhD) Baydjanova Iroda Abdullayevna 2023 Ph.D., under the supervision of Professor Khajieva Maksuda Sultanovna, defended her dissertation on the topic "Pedagogical mechanisms of increasing the spiritual and moral responsibility of parents in raising children in modern society" and was awarded the PhD degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Pedagogical Sciences.

Senior teacher Ozoda Alimovna Ruzmetova 2023, Ph.D., professor Ermetova J.I. passed a scientific seminar on the topic “Derivational and lexicographical features of mathematical terms (in English and Uzbek languages).”

On October 22–23, 2024, an international scientific and practical conference dedicated to current issues in comparative literature, contrastive linguistics, translation studies, and linguodidactic approaches in language education was held. During the conference, pressing problems in world linguistics, literary studies, translation studies, and foreign language teaching methodology were discussed, and specific solutions to these issues were proposed. The proceedings of this conference are intended for scholars, researchers, and academic practitioners conducting research in the fields of comparative literature, contrastive linguistics, and translation studies.

On October 24–25, 2025, an international scientific-practical conference was held on current issues of modern and contrastive linguistics, comparative literature, and translation studies. The conference discussed key problems of linguistics, literary studies, translation, intercultural communication, and linguodidactic approaches in language education. The proceedings are intended for researchers working in these fields.

On May 19–20, 2023, an international scientific-practical conference entitled “Issues of Modern and Contrastive Linguistics, Comparative Literature, and Translation Studies” was held. The conference addressed current problems in modern linguistics, contrastive studies, comparative literature, and translation studies. This volume is intended for researchers, doctoral students, and independent scholars conducting research in these fields.

On November 16-17, 2023, an international scientific conference was held on the topic of "Current Issues in 21st Century Linguistics and Innovative Pedagogical Approaches in Teaching Foreign Languages." In it, pressing issues related to comparative and contrastive linguistics, linguistics, literary studies, and translation studies were discussed. This collection is intended for researchers, doctoral candidates, and independent scholars conducting scientific research in these fields.

On February 20, 2025, the International CLIL Conference, titled "Innovating Education: Advancing CLIL for Global Learning and Collaboration," was held. The conference addressed contemporary issues in language teaching methodology and provided a valuable platform for researchers, PhD candidates, and independent scholars engaged in research in these areas to exchange knowledge and share their findings.

Based on the materials of the two-day international conference on the topic "Integrating Skills into University Curriculum: Global to Local Perspectives" held in February 2025. The collection includes scientific articles addressing the pressing issues of integrating professional and practical skills into the curricula of higher education systems. It includes scientific works by leading scholars, professors, and researchers from India, Uzbekistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, the Sultanate of Oman, and other countries. The publication covers modern scientific research in the fields of education, language teaching methodology, social sciences, and other disciplines. The collection serves to develop international scientific cooperation, popularize advanced experiences, and improve the quality of higher education.
