MEDIA-TOUR was held on the topic of "The book is a precious treasure. Works on improving the reading culture of students" at Urgench State University
Today, on December 20, journalists and bloggers from our region took part in this media tour organized for media workers. During the tour, the conditions created for the formation of the culture of reading among young people in our university were reviewed, clubs and projects were introduced.
In particular, they got acquainted with the activities of Information Resource Centers at Urgench State University.
Today, the main information and resource center of the university consists of 5 departments, computer and study rooms, library rooms, computer and study rooms in student residences, 8 information libraries in faculties and 2 branch information libraries located in local areas has been providing service.
Currently, the general book fund of the Information Resource Center consists of 306,698 copies of literature in 22,308 titles, and a total of 29,424 readers are members of the Information Resource Center. There are also specially equipped rooms with Braille literature for students with disabilities and blind students.
Kahramon Eshchanov, the editor of "Hurriyat.uz" internet publication, participating in the media tour, became a member of the university's Information Resource Center.
In addition, a number of projects and clubs were organized at Urgench State University in order to create a culture of reading among students. For example, the intellectual games "Tafakkur Gulshani", "Connoisseur of historical and artistic works", "Book student", "Navoi Khan student", "Poetry podium", "Young speakers", "One day of a student", "Day of intelligence" ", "Zakovat Student League" and other projects are among them.
Among them, the contests "Kitabkhan student", "Navoiykhan student", "Poetry podium", "Young speakers" competitions are regularly held every month with the participation of students of each faculty of the university and will be awarded.
During the tour, the participants of the media tour also took part in the next edition of the "Navoiy Khan Student" competition, which is held regularly in order to deeply study Alisher Navoiy's work, his rich literary heritage, and deeply understand the essence of his works.
