An international scientific and practical conference is being held on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the birth of the great poet Avaz O'tar.

"Knowing every language is a life for a man..."

These verses belong to the pen of the great poet Avaz O'tar, who created with the ideas of tyranny, freedom, and enlightenment. This poem is also important because it encourages learning foreign languages. The poet calls language "robitai olamiyan" - a means of communication between people, which unites and makes friends of people of different nationalities. That's why he says that knowing a foreign language like a mother tongue is a "useful".

Commemorating our enlightened ancestors like Avaz O'tar and passing on his spiritual legacy to the younger generation is considered the greatest task of literary scholars. In this regard, an international scientific-practical conference on the topic "Actual problems of philology" is being held at the Palace of Culture of Urgench State University on the initiative of the faculty of Uzbek philology on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the birth of the great poet Avaz O'tar.
