The Final Stage of the “She’riyat Shohsupasi” Competition Was Held

On December 17, the 216th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker, outstanding poet, sensitive historian, eminent translator, and statesman Muhammad Rizo Erniyozbek ogli Ogahi was commemorated. Ogahi is regarded as one of the most prolific creators of poetic and prose works in the Turkic language during the period of the Khiva Khanate and a distinguished representative of the Turkic school of translation. In the words of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, he was a writer who created “the most and the finest” works.

On the initiative of the Faculty of Philology and Arts, the final stage of the traditionally held “She’riyat Shohsupasi” competition was dedicated to the legacy of the classical poet Muhammad Rizo Erniyozbek ogli Ogahi. Faculty professors and teaching staff, as well as students, actively participated in the event.

The competition featured five students of the faculty, who competed based on two criteria. In the artistic segment of the program, performances prepared by students of Group 235, Uzbek Language Teaching program, were presented. Poems, songs, graceful dances, and theatrical performances celebrating the life and works of the great writer Ogahi left a strong impression on the audience.

The second part of the final stage of the “She’riyat Shohsupasi” competition was held among students of the Russian Language Teaching program and was dedicated to the works of the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. Four students from the program took part, showcasing their knowledge and creative abilities.

According to the final results, Rahimova Iroda, a student of the Uzbek Language Teaching program, and Ibodullayeva Guli, a student of the Russian Language Teaching program, won the absolute victory.

The winners and active participants were warmly congratulated by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor D.Ghayipov, who ceremoniously presented letters of appreciation, cash prize vouchers, certificates of honor, and commemorative gifts.
