Today, an event dedicated to the “May 9 – Day of Remembrance and Honor” was held at Urgench State University. The event was organized to honor veteran educators, professors, and staff members who devoted many years of dedicated service to the development of the university. Veterans who had worked at the university for many years, as well as current faculty members, took part in the event.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the Rector of the university, Feruza Madrahimova, delivered a speech expressing deep gratitude for the devoted service of teachers in the fields of science and education, their significant contribution to raising the younger generation, and their invaluable role in the university’s development. She also emphasized the importance of such noble values as the honor of being a teacher and the sacredness of memory in the spiritual life of society. Veteran teachers and staff members who had worked effectively for many years for the progress of the university and are now retired were shown sincere respect and appreciation, and were ceremonially presented with the Rector’s letters of appreciation and commemorative gifts.
During the event, congratulatory speeches by the university’s honored veteran educators were heard. The artistic part of the program featured a live concert performed by the People’s Artists of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan — brothers Gofurjon and Gulomjon Eshchanov, along with the Khorezm Maqom Ensemble, creating a festive atmosphere and uplifting spirit throughout the event.
