Deputy Minister Visits Urgench State University


Today, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation O‘ktam Salomov visited Urganch davlat universiteti and, accompanied by the university rector Feruza Madrahimova, with the exhibition of innovative developments and projects being implemented in practice by the faculty’s scientists, researchers, and students of the Faculty of Engineering.

The faculty team presented a number of promising projects aimed at solving socio-economic issues in the region. Detailed discussions were held regarding their practical significance, opportunities for implementation in industrial and economic sectors, as well as their contribution to regional development. The Deputy Minister provided relevant recommendations and instructions for further improvement of the projects.

In addition, detailed information was presented on the university’s efforts to establish “Spin-off” enterprises, existing opportunities, and future plans. It was particularly emphasized that integrating innovative developments into the economy and strengthening cooperation between science and industry are among today’s priority tasks.

The Deputy Minister also became closely acquainted with the activities of the Faculty of Engineering’s educational and scientific laboratories, where the modern conditions and opportunities created for students and researchers were highly appreciated. Important recommendations were given on further developing laboratory activities, increasing the effectiveness of scientific research, and supporting the innovative potential of young people.

Afterwards, O‘ktam Salomov reviewed the construction and improvement works being carried out at the university. In particular, the construction process of the new 8-storey academic building being erected on the university campus was inspected. It was noted that the building, constructed on the basis of modern architectural solutions, would contribute to improving the quality of education and creating better conditions for students.

Furthermore, discussions were held with responsible officials regarding the quality of the construction works and the project itself. Relevant recommendations and instructions were given to complete the construction in accordance with modern standards.

At the end of the visit, an official meeting was held with Su Haiy Ang, Deputy General Director of the joint venture “Uz XCMG,” which is part of China’s XCMG group of companies, as well as representatives of the enterprise.
During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation between Urganch davlat universiteti and XCMG in training qualified specialists based on the dual education system.

During the dialogue, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of engaging students not only in engineering, mechanical engineering, and mechanical engineering technologies, but also in the fields of economic management. Particular attention was paid to establishing an educational system that combines practical experience with modern knowledge.

The parties also held negotiations on implementing joint educational programs aimed at training competitive specialists who meet international standards, possess practical skills, and have a strong command of modern industrial processes.
