The grand opening ceremony of the "Alley of great thinkers" took place at Urgench State University

Today, a grand opening ceremony of the “Alley of great thinkers” was held at Urganch State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruniy. The alley was established to honor the rich scientific and spiritual heritage of our great ancestors, immortalize their memory, and widely promote national values among the younger generation.

The event was attended by representatives of the scientific, literary, and educational communities, prominent literary scholars and historians from our region, various parts of the country, and abroad, as well as university administrators, professors, teachers, and students.

The ceremony was opened by the university rector, Feruza Madrahimova, who highlighted the purpose of establishing the alley and its spiritual and educational significance. Sherzod Berdiyev deputy governor of Khorezm region, Anora Mahmudova hero of Uzbekistan, and Nazrulla Jorayev doctor of political sciences and professor, also delivered speeches, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of our great ancestors to the development of science and culture. Otavoy Jumaniyozov, a university professor and distinguished veteran educator, honored the memory of the departed and recited the Fatiha prayer for their souls.

Following the speeches, a ceremonial ribbon was cut, officially opening the “Alley of great thinkers” to the public. University rector Feruza Madrahimova then guided the guests through the newly established site. As noted during the ceremony, the alley features statues of 18 great figures who made invaluable contributions to the development of world science, literature, and civilization. This site will serve to strengthen national pride, historical awareness, and respect for the heritage of great ancestors among students.

As part of the event, a tree-planting initiative was also held under the “Yashil makon” (Green Space) nationwide project. Guests, university administrators, professors, teachers, and students jointly planted ornamental trees throughout the alley.

In addition, the visiting guests, accompanied by the University Rector, explored the university's recent development and construction projects, newly established facilities, and modern conditions created on campus.

The opening of the “Alley of great thinkers” marked a significant spiritual and educational event in the university's history, representing another meaningful initiative aimed at preserving the invaluable heritage of our ancestors, passing it on to future generations, and inspiring young people to pursue science and enlightenment.
