US Embassy Project "English for STEM" (2018-2020) Graduation ceremony
The Graduation Ceremony of the US Embassy's English for STEM (2018-2020) project was held on December 23 at Urgench State University. In this project, for two years, students mastered not only English, but also a special subject of English language for instance in the field of science, technology, engineering, mathematics. During the project, students enhanced researching skills, teambuilding, leadership, independent study and the project strengthened friendship skills. The mindset of English for STEM students has changed significantly. Rector of Urgench State University B.I. Abdullayev, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Philology Zohid Atabaevich and project coordinator Feruza Masharipova gave a speech in this closing event, emphasizing the importance of this project not only at the university, throughout in Uzbekistan. Moreover, the most active students who participated in the project were awarded certificates and prizes of Macmillan books for completing the two-year project.
