A regular meeting of the Rector’s council was held

Today, a regular meeting of the council under the Rector was held under the chairmanship of Feruza Madrahimova, rector of Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Biruni.

At the beginning of the meeting, the results of the professional (creative) examinations held at the university and the progress of the admission process for the 2026/2027 academic year were discussed.

The work being carried out to ensure student employment and implement the “Step into the Future” programme was also reviewed. Proposals were considered regarding the effective use of the university’s academic and teaching potential, the establishment of spin-off enterprises based on existing opportunities and the creation of service centres in various fields beginning from the new academic year.

During the meeting, issues related to the prospects of the university’s gradual transition to a five-day working week were also discussed.

In addition, particular attention was paid to putting scientific and innovative developments into practice, further strengthening cooperation with manufacturing enterprises, establishing the “Startup Club” to support scientific ideas and promising projects, and preparing the university for comprehensive accreditation.

The agenda also included an analysis of the work being carried out to effectively organise the diploma-awarding process, review students’ academic performance, organise repeat study and evaluate students’ social engagement.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the responsible officials were given specific instructions and directives, and appropriate measures were determined to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of the assigned tasks.
