A meeting between senators and youth was held at UrSU


Today, thursday on the occasion of Youth Day, Deputy chair of the committee on agrarian and water management issues and ecology of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sayyora Abdikarimova visited Urgench State University and held an open dialogue with young people.

At the beginning of the meeting, rector of the university Feruza Madrahimova provided the students with information about the country’s legislative system and the activities of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis. During the dialogue, Senator S. Abdikarimova spoke about the consistent implementation of the state youth policy in Uzbekistan, the protection of young people’s rights and interests, and the broad opportunities being created for them to receive an education, engage in research, acquire professional skills and realize their potential. It was particularly emphasized that young people’s initiative, pursuit of knowledge and science, openness to innovation and active participation in public life are among the key factors of today’s development.

The participants were also informed about the activities of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the law-making process and the stages of drafting and adopting laws. Particular attention was paid to improving young people’s legal literacy.

Chairman of the Khorezm Regional Council of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan Dilshod Atamurodov also took part in the dialogue and shared his views on projects and initiatives aimed at supporting young people.

The questions raised by the students and the active discussion enriched by their proposals made the meeting even more meaningful.
